I love being a mom! I cannot believe that a helpless, sweet, innocent, demanding, miracle could change my life forever. I was in awe when I first looked at my beautiful baby boy. He was, however, a very sick baby. At 6 hours old, he had to have his first heart surgery followed by a second open heart surgery at 5 days old. It was not until he was 10 days old that I was first able to hold him. That day was my absolute favorite. The instant that he was placed in my arms, knowing that he was going to be fine, was the most joyous moment of motherhood.

One of my favorite " Mom" moments ( because I have lots of them )
When my son was 17, he was driving home from work late at night and realized that it was going to be mothersday the next day and he forget to get me something. Not that i would expect gifts, I always said , a card is nice even or especially a hand made one. Any ways, we live kinda rural and he noticed these beautiful tullips and daiphodils in some body's yard, so he decided to pull over and " take" a bouquet for his Mom. So the next day, he had put the in a vase and made a card. I was wondering where he got the money from , since flowers are rather expensive and I pretty much control his finances
( That is a whole other story ) he instantly turned red and right away admitted to what he had done, wich normally he would try to lie a bit, hhhmmm. He said that it seemed like a good idea at first but the guilt was just eating him alive. " All I could think about is, if some body would do that to you, since you love your flowers so much " he said. So he bought some flower seeds and a "sorry" card and put it in the ladies mailbox. Why is this one of my favorite moment? Because with kids it is not all about, fun, play trying to make them listen, candy etc. etc. i think we get " loaned " our kids to form great adults , with value's and although we laughed and laughed about this story, it also made me very proud to know that my son has values, sure he tried to be bad but found out that wasn't really the correct thing.

  7. My favorite mom moment was when my mom tried to spit her gum out my passenger window while she was driving. We both were laughing so hard at her valiant effort that the gum ended up in my hair. Boy do I love her. Happy Mothers day to a sharp shooter mom.... Krystina

  9. There are so many precious mommy moments that are in my heart...one of the top ones just happened yesterday when my son looked up at me with his big brown eyes and said, "Mommy, when I grow up, can I marry you? You won't be too old!" I laughed and cried all at once & hugged my little guy. I kept thinking, "this kind of moment makes every challenging moment SO worth it all!" :)

  10. As the kids get older, it seems as though the favorite mom moments become more precious. It doesn't matter how stressful, hectic, busy, etc. my day may be ... when my 13 year old soon approaches me and asks for a hug -- everything else melts away!

Glad to see you posting on your blog again - enjoy reading your posts :)
